Janyesha Jackson, B.A.
Collaborating Consultant
Janyesha Jackson is a dedicated youth worker and advocate. They value data-informed decision-making, seeing it as a powerful tool to cultivate connections. As an artist and adept communicator, she seamlessly weaves this approach with their core values: integrity, creativity, and collaboration. Guided by the belief that art and storytelling has the power to heal, Janyesha actively engages in facilitating intergenerational learning opportunities, viewing them as essential to the liberation of marginalized communities. In every endeavor, she contributes to the community, data tells a story, and connections thrive.
Janyesha, hailing from Saint Paul's historic Rondo community, discovered her passion for youth programs early in life. Starting as a participant in a neighborhood program herself, they progressed to become a Program Director at a Boys and Girls club, navigating the pressure to adopt a more authoritative and hierarchal stance. Instead, Janyesha connects with youth deliberately, gathering insights alongside youth, without dismissing their connections as childish.
Now as a contractor, she is perfecting her way to balancing direct service, training, and mentoring. They’re a perpetual learner who understands best by doing and teaching. Janyesha is deeply involved in empowering others; they facilitate art classes, creating a safe haven for the people to emote and dream in community. Through this, she brings vibrant color to data, shaping a holistic and creative approach to empowerment.
As Janyesha continues her journey, she envisions further growth. Their path involves expanding their impact, nurturing a community where every voice is heard, understood, and empowered.
